Golden Hour Series Kickoff β Matanzas Creek
The beloved summer series at Matanzas Creek launches for 2026! Every guest receives a complimentary pour to start the evening. Bring your own picnic fare, a blanket or lawn chairs, and settle in for live music and gorgeous Bennett Valley sunsets. Additional wines available by the bottle or glass throughout the evening. No outside alcohol permitted.

The Bennett Valley Community Association hosts a special evening with local master photographer Jim Codington. A 14-year Bennett Valley resident who lives on Sonoma Mountain, Jim’s wildlife and landscape photography β including stunning drone imagery of the valley β has captivated the community on Nextdoor and beyond. Trione-Annadel State Park
May is peak wildflower season at Annadel β especially on the trail around Lake Ilsanjo. Hike 40+ miles of multi-use trails through oak woodlands and volcanic hills. Day use fee: $8/vehicle. Dogs on leash in paved areas only. 6201 Channel Dr, Santa Rosa.
Taylor Mountain Regional Park
Panoramic views of Santa Rosa and Bennett Valley from the 1,380-ft summit. Features an 18-hole disc golf course, oak woodlands, seasonal creeks, and a family nature play area. $7/vehicle. Entrances at 2080 Kawana Terrace & 3820 Petaluma Hill Rd.
Matanzas Creek Tastings
Daily wine tastings by reservation β explore estate Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Stroll the lavender gardens and enjoy picnic bottle service on the grounds. Walk-ins welcome, reservations recommended. Call 707-521-7019.
Bennett Valley Golf Leagues
Multiple weekly leagues are active in May: Women’s Golf Club (Thursdays), Senior Men’s Club (Wednesdays, 55+), and the Summer Golf League (MondaysβThursdays from 4:30 PM). Iron & Vine Restaurant open daily for dining. 3330 Yulupa Ave.
Santa Rosa Farmers Market
The Santa Rosa Community Certified Farmers’ Market runs Wednesday and Saturday mornings near the Bennett Valley area at Farmers Lane Plaza. Stock up on local produce, flowers, and artisan goods from Sonoma County growers and vendors.
Sonoma County Fair β Tickets on Sale in May!
The big Sonoma County Fair returns August 7β16, 2026 at the Fairgrounds at 1350 Bennett Valley Rd. Tickets go on sale in May β grab early access to one of the North Bay’s biggest annual events featuring horse racing, live concerts, rides, exhibits, and more.
