April is one of the most beautiful months to be in Bennett Valley. The vines are leafing out, wildflowers are putting on their annual show on the hillsides of Sonoma Mountain and Taylor Peak, and the valley itself starts buzzing with activity after the quiet winter months. Tucked between the ridgelines just south of Santa Rosa, Bennett Valley is home to California’s oldest continually operating Grange hall, a handful of boutique wineries, and some of the most scenic terrain in all of Sonoma County.

April 2026 Events — Chronological
Right here on Bennett Valley Road, the Sonoma County Fairgrounds hosts one of the biggest craft beer events in California. The 29th Annual Battle of the Brews is put on by the Active 20-30 Club of Santa Rosa and features hundreds of beers from breweries across the country, all-you-can-eat food from local vendors, live music, raffles, and games. Tickets include admission, food, and all-you-can-drink-responsibly beer. A great excuse to celebrate spring without leaving the valley.
Get Tickets →A morning bird walk on Oona-pa’is (Sonoma Mountain) at the beloved Jack London State Historic Park, just over the ridge from Bennett Valley. Spring migration brings an exciting mix of songbirds and raptors to these oak woodlands. This is a guided interpretive experience combining birding and nature writing — bring binoculars and a sense of wonder. More Info →The Bennett Valley Grange — the oldest Community Grange in California and home to the oldest Grange Hall in continuous use in the United States (built 1873) — holds its monthly membership meeting on the third Wednesday of every month. Guests are always welcome.
