Santa Rosa Wednesday Night Market — Every Wednesday in June

Now in its 37th year, Sonoma County’s premier outdoor street fair draws 7,000–9,000 people per night with local food vendors, artisans, craft beer, wine, community booths, and a Kids Zone. Each Wednesday features a different live act. The four June shows are:

June 3 — Latino Night: Bay Area–based Cumbia and Latin music band
June 10 — Northern California country band
June 17 — Duran Duran tribute band
June 24 — California banda music group

Lavender Bloom & Wine Tasting at Matanzas Creek Winery

One of the most iconic Bennett Valley experiences: the famed lavender fields at Matanzas Creek burst into full purple bloom from mid-June through early July. The winery — a founding force of the Bennett Valley AVA since 1977 — runs its summer Golden Hour series on select Friday evenings, with a complimentary welcome pour and sunset views over the estate. Tastings available daily by appointment; walk-ins welcomed space-permitting.

Taylor Mountain Regional Park — Hiking, Biking & Disc Golf

Taylor Mountain is one of Bennett Valley’s greatest outdoor assets — a 1,100-acre open space preserve with sweeping views of the city, the valley, and the coastal mountains. As of summer 2025, a major trail expansion brought the network to over 15 miles through oak woodlands, seasonal creeks, and scenic ridgetops. Features hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, a free 18-hole disc golf course, a natural play area, and restrooms at both entrances. Dogs on leash welcome.

Trione-Annadel State Park — 40+ Miles of Trails

Right on the doorstep of Bennett Valley, Annadel is a 5,000+ acre mecca for hikers, mountain bikers, trail runners, and equestrians. Forty-plus miles of trails wind through mixed chaparral, oak woodlands, and meadows, with Lake Ilsanjo at the center. June is one of the prime months — long daylight, warm but not brutal, and wildflowers still lingering in sheltered spots. Early morning starts on the east-facing trails are highly recommended.

Tee Off at Bennett Valley Golf Course & Grille

The par-72, 6,500-yard Bennett Valley Golf Course sits at the base of Bennett Peak with Matanzas Creek winding through four holes. Consistently rated among the best-maintained municipal courses in the region, it’s surrounded by native oaks, redwoods, and Monterey pines. June is prime playing season — warm afternoons, long light, and excellent course conditions. The Bennett Valley Grille offers full bar service and great food on an expansive patio with course views. Open to all.

Bennett Valley Community Association (BVCA) — Stay Connected

The all-volunteer BVCA is the civic heartbeat of Bennett Valley. The organization publishes a regular newsletter, advocates on roads, parks, open space, and county planning, and hosts community events throughout the year including the June 7 Grange Picnic. Start of Fire Season — Sign Up for SoCoAlert

June officially opens fire season for Bennett Valley and greater Sonoma County. Residents are strongly encouraged to sign up for SoCoAlert — the county’s free emergency notification system for wildfires, floods, and evacuations. It’s customizable to your specific address and takes about two minutes to set up. The 2026 BVCA Town Hall named emergency preparedness as the community’s top priority. Don’t wait for smoke to sign up.

Wednesday Night Market — Latino Night

The first Latino Night of June at the Wednesday Night Market is one of the biggest draws of the entire summer season — the May 20 opener pulled thousands of dancers to Courthouse Square. June 3 features a Bay Area–based Cumbia and Latin music band, plus dozens of food vendors, community booths, and all-ages family fun. Free admission.

153rd Annual Founders Day BBQ & Picnic — Bennett Valley Grange #16

The landmark community event of the Bennett Valley summer — the 153rd Annual Founders Day BBQ and Picnic is hosted by the oldest continuously operating Grange Hall in the United States. The Bennett Valley Community Association (BVCA) joins as co-host this year. Expect great food, live music, the fan-favorite Cherry Pit Spitting Contest, a petting zoo, family games, prizes, and a genuine neighbors-under-the-oaks atmosphere. All proceeds support the Grange Building Preservation Fund.

Wednesday Night Market — Northern California Country Band

A warm-up for Country Summer weekend two days later — the June 10 Wednesday Night Market features a Northern California country band on the main stage. Local food vendors, farmers, artisans, craft beer, and wine round out the evening. The Kids Zone is open with free activities. Free admission.

Country Summer Music Festival 2026

Northern California’s biggest country music festival returns right here on Bennett Valley Road. The 2026 lineup headliners: Keith Urban (four-time Grammy winner) on Saturday June 13, Cole Swindell on Friday June 12, and Koe Wetzel on Sunday June 14 — alongside 20+ additional artists on two stages: the Chevrolet Main Stage and the Redwood Credit Union Community Stage.

On-site tent camping and RV parking available. Includes the Kaiser Permanente Viewing Deck, the Country Club VIP barn with catered dinner, gourmet food vendors, line dancing, and a full festival atmosphere. All ages welcome.

Wednesday Night Market — Duran Duran Tribute Band

The June 17 Wednesday Night Market features a Duran Duran tribute band for an 80s night at Courthouse Square. Local food, artisans, farm produce, craft beverages, and the Kids Zone all in play. Free admission. This is also the night of the BVCA’s monthly Grange meeting — catch it before or after the market (see below).

Bennett Valley Grange #16 — Monthly Membership Meeting

The Grange holds its monthly membership meeting on the third Wednesday of every month, and guests are always welcome. It’s a genuine opportunity to learn about one of the oldest civic institutions in California — the Grange was organized in 1873 — get involved in community projects, and connect with neighbors. Bennett Valley Union School District — End-of-Year Events

The Bennett Valley Union School District (BVUSD) wraps up the 2025–26 school year in June for its TK–6th grade students at Strawberry School and Yulupa School. Year-end activities typically include 6th-grade continuation ceremonies, spring performances, and community volunteer appreciation events.
